Royal Buffet in Hoffman Estates

Always busy, and as always at this kind of buffet, a wait for seafood. What I really like about Royal is the better quality sushi than most buffets, and the authentic dim sum choices. They also have a full bar area with sports on the screen.

I love Royal Buffet! As you enter you can see beautiful chandeliers and watch the fish and turtles swim around. I usually throw a coin in the water to make a wish/or just for good luck. After you enjoy the fishes/atmosphere, the hosts seat you according to how many people you are with alike most restraunts. Walking to the table is the fun part because you see all the different foods! Unlimited Crablegs, Sushi, etc?! Hell yeah 😂... $30 a person for dinner isn't too bad. They also offer a "personal" chef to make food for you as you pick what sauces, noodles, veggies, etc. Servers can be a pain sometimes though because they get quite busy running around but I understand. Overall you can't really complain, staff is really nice and the food is fantastic! Always come here before we shop at the mall.

This is one of my favorite places. They have everything from crab legs to steaks, sushi, traditional Asian dishes, and a Mongolian grill. There is something for everyone here and it will be delicious.

Nice food selection. They have sushi, seafood, chinese cuisine and decent dessert. Service is okay. We go here during the holidays cause we don't have time to prepare something at home. They sometimes have lobster and crab offerings but prepare to line up.

Great buffet! Best I have been to. Even with the lines for lobster and crab and 1 per person of each my wide and I easily got our fill in of seafood! Highly recommend and great flavors!

Lobster and crab legs were decent. Good variety but I wish they used covers for the metal steamers used for the dim sum. It would keep the items from drying out and looking and tasting old. Service was good as the waitress we had was pretty attentive to removing used plates and refilling our drinks.

Food selection was amazing! Cold food was cold and hot food was warm as it should have been. Service wasn't terrible and for the amount of people that were there, it was satisfactory, but it could be improved. For the variety of food and the amount, price was very reasonable. Definitely recommend!

Best food, best price. Will always be my go to buffet. You get all these great food, plus a huge selection of sea food for dinner and weekends. Considering a plate cost that much at a sit down place these days. Don't know why people are complaining. They should cook at home instead of eating out.

Great spot for a great variety of food. They have hibachi, sushi and sashimi, dim sum, other Asian specialties and your expected Asian buffet foods, a good selection of desserts and ice creams as well. Dinner is better but lunch is better for the price. My parents love going here, they really feel like they get what they pay for. And, they're great for large groups!

Great selection of sushi, vegetables and fish. Appetizers and beef and chicken. Definitely leave stuffed. I forgot fruits and pastry too.

First of all, I like this restaurant, because it’s one of those restaurants where you pick raw food and put it on a plate for the chef to cook. even better, you can watch your food get cooked! I highly recommend this place to buffet lovers.

The food here is very good, although it's a buffet and I don't expect much from servers, they're on the ball, but not very talkative. It's not the cheapest place, so expect no less than $35 per person... But then again, there's a large selection of pretty good sushi, you can get a strip steak in a dish at the first station, sometimes there's lobster and crab. The traditional food you'd find on Asian menus is very good. They'd get 5 stars if staff wasn't cold and visibly messing around instead of making it a little bit cleaner... That could use some work.

The food was okay. Not the best, but not the worst ether. The selection is hugh with lots of different choices to try. Downside for me is it's a hour and a half drive from where I live. Took my grandson there for his birthday and he loved it. I'll go back in the future for dinner cause twice as much seafood. Weekend they have lobster (1/2) and crab legs. If you're into chickens feet they serve them several different ways. Couldn't bring myself to try them, but good luck with that.

Best Asian buffet in the area! There is such a huge selection of items and every single one is restaurant high-quality, which you rarely find in a buffet setting. Certain days have lobster and crab leg offerings. There’s a steamed food area, sushi bar, and hibachi grill and all of it is super delicious! This my go-to restaurant for a nice dinner out or when I’m craving some seafood. It’s a little pricey, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

This place is for Sea food and Sushi lovers. Amazing buffet with lot of variety and huge sitting arrangements. Hibachi Station is very popular along with "Make your Customized Noodles Bar". Also, deserts are super good as they have bite size cheese cakes and other delicacies. Highlights was Crabs!!!

My wife and I enjoyed our lunch Sunday, 11/2/19, everything fresh and the service was fantastic. Awesome sushi and seafood! Highly recommend!

Food as always delicious and fresh host was very welcoming and cooks servers had a really good attitude and a smile. I had to constantly ask the waitress for soda refill even thou when she came to pick up my empty plate the glass was notisable empty, empty plates sometimes were left unattended for too long. I go for the food which exceeds my expetation always. This time I left a good tip like always but next time I go out there I will not be leaving a tip if I get the same service.

Was really excited to come here and try the lobster and sushi. Sushi was amazing. If you're going to come here, go for the sushi. I waited ten minutes in line to get cold lobster that tasted literally sour. Didnt help that they provided margarine to serve with it either..

This spot never fails to impress. They serve fresh food for affordable rates, there is no waiting time even when the place is packed.

Dinner on a busy Saturday night, around 745pm. Was pleasantly surprised to find lobster and crab legs being served. Line was a little long for the lobster, but food was good. Highlight was the steak, actually. Was well cooked and very tasty. Service is OK. Worth it for the seafood and steak.

It's a Chinese buffet regardless of how you glam it up. Catch them at high turn over hours and it's a 5-star experience. Otherwise, they're not rotating out new food for a couple of people. Also, pro-tip: you can get creative with the hibachi feature by gathering ingredients from outside of its bar.

Pretty decent selection of food, and a constant turnover so the food is fresh. Oysters looked a tad unappetizing however. Service is mediocre. We had a birthday party and it was hard for the waiter to understand us and us to understand him and he couldn’t figure out our needs such as him perhaps bringing out the cake with a lit candle (both provided by us), needing a knife to cut the cake with, plates (luckily we brought our own palate ones) and extra set of utensils. When we made reservations we discussed these things with the staff over the phone and again tried to ask and discuss it with the waiter but things were missed. The overall place needs a good cleaning and updating, it has went down hill in terms of upkeep. The lobby looks old and rundown, the “pond” doesn’t work anymore, the aquarium inside is no longer usable, and the feel of the dining rooms is just that of a public school cafeteria.

That 2 stars i gave is for the food, took off 3 for the service and the staff running behind for tip without providing proper service. We went there at 8:15 PM and got to know that the kitchen will be closed at 8:30 PM and the restaurant actually closes at 9:00 PM, the business timings were mentioned as 9:30 PM on the board, but that includes their staff dinner and cleaning the vessels and all ... they never refill the food after 8:30 PM. Don’t think I will go back unless the service and the servers behavior changes.

Fantastic vibes and super amiable service. The food was fresh and delicious. Will surely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Convenient rates and large meals. Great work.

Food is great, the servers not so much! Our waitress had a sour attitude the whole time. She wouldn’t refill our water. When we signed our bill, the server looked over our table to see how much we tipped in front of me and my husband while we still enjoying our dinner. I saw her talk to another server and judge us out loud. When we about to leave the server stopped my husband and demanded we tipped more.

Large buffet selection with Sushi, Stone Grill you bring your choices to be cooked on, lots and lots of prepared dishes, salads, soups desserts, and on the night we went they had lobster and crab. The food was fresh and delicious, took a friend for her birthday who is not real big on Asian cuisine but she loved it. Services was very attentive. It is more expensive on crab and lobster nights then other nights but worth the extra🤗

Great selection and anyone can find something to eat. Good service. I have gone there many times. Every once in a while you can see not so fresh items. Loved going there. But alas.......The price went up so high I won't be going back. Not worth it to me anymore.

Just ate here. INCREDIBLE. Have no clue what anybody rating this less that 4-5 stars is thinking. You might wait a few minutes in line for fresh lobster and crab if it's busy, but we came at 2:30 pm on Saturday, stayed more than 2 hours and the food was consistently fresh the entire time. It did start to get busy, so I can imagine it's even more so around prime dinner hours. But such a wide selection of seafood, including shellfish. Will most certainly be back.

They have variety of sushi, shellfish, crabs, shrimps and salmon. They also have pork and beef. They also have variety of desserts. They are famous for their shrimp and crabs. I was just invited by my friend so I don't really know how much each person but I heard it's $20 per person. Its all asian food.

Eh. Far too pricey. Over 12 and over a certain height, yes I said certain height, you're considered an adult. Also there is a notice on every table that says "take what you eat and eat what you take otherwise a percentage will be added to your bill". Price per person is $30. I took my boys there, one for their b-day and almost $100.00! That's just wrong. Go to another to restaurant or call your favorite place for delivery.

The best Asian buffet in Chicagoland in my opinion as someone originally from China. I visit Royal Buffet very often despite living in the city of Chicago. That's like 45 minutes drive. If you go there for the lobsters, make sure to check what days of the week they serve them.

I hope being closed gives you enough time to clean your bathrooms. They were so deteriorated, I’m surprised None of us fell to the basement or further yet to match her food, hell. LOL

Whenever I make it to the Schaumburg area, I try to stop here. HUGE selection of good eats. Various shrimp, fish, crab, frog legs, sushi selection, hibachi grill, even lobster on select days. Various Asian dishes to let you try different things. Cantonese, Japanese, Mongolian, Chinese. Lunch time is not as busy as dinner. The days they serve lobster can be crowded.

This place is terrible! Don’t go here! Food was cold, sushi was not fresh! Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! Read reviews before going! Disgusting. Owner was very Unprofessional! All we wanted was half off the bill, he gave us 10%. Bad business! Prices not posted anywhere! Beware!!

It was good food I would not lie, but the service wasn’t good because the guy that attended us was very rude and was using his phone most of the time. In the end when we didn’t leave tip he kept asking why? And that we were very rude for not leaving him a tip. Overall the only thing I enjoyed was the food.

This site is my number one site. Of all restaurants I know I love it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. everytime I I need a proper dinner, this is the place that comes immediately to my head. excellent and varied food and a rich menu.well mannered staff members, and good ambience. Also, the cost is decent. I sent my friends to this spot with no doubt.

I'm a buffet eater and find this place to be better than most. Not sure that the Sunday cost is worth the price but the rest of the week is pretty good for the selection and the price. Really enjoy the sushi bar.

The food is really good here. However, the plates are always dirty and wet. They need to get more dishes so that they can always have clean plates. Also, there is always a long line for crab legs and lobster.

Lots of variety but the taste was just ok. Plate is not clean. Some food is not so fresh. Fruits is hard and sour.

Food is amazing. Just need to find a way to mass prepare the Crab legs.

Very impressive Asian buffet. I went to dine on a Sunday evening and was delighted with both Japanese and Chinese food, from basic to exotic, several seafood options, good selection, unusual dishes. Excellent.Will definitely return and recommend.Prices are fairly low considering the food.
